PU Legacy Scholar Undergraduate Scholarship Process

The PU Legacy Scholar Undergraduate application process closed last Friday. Thanks to each of you who encouraged young adults in your communities attending colleges and universities like our beloved PU to apply. There were over 110 applications to the program for seven open spots. That’s a reminder that the leadership, scholarship and service work you help make possible is not just meaningful, but also critically important. The new 2023-2024 Legacy Scholars will be announced the last week in April.

Haymaker Newspapers Sought

by Phillips Theological Seminary

Have a Haymaker student newspaper in your collection? Avery Welden, the librarian at Phillips Theological Seminary is looking for individuals willing to donate issues of The Haymaker student newspaper to the Phillips Seminary Library. Any donated newspapers added to the collection will include the name of the individual who donated them and will be archivally preserved for use by Phillips University alumni, Disciples researchers, as well as future Phillips Seminary students and alumni.

As Avery puts it, "The Haymaker was such a vital part of the Phillips University student body, and we would love to include this important student newspaper in our Disciples serials collection and fill in a missing part of our Phillips University/Phillips Seminary history."

If you have newspapers you'd be willing to donate, please email Avery at avery.welden@ptstulsa.edu
